Associated Student Body (ASB)

Associated Student Body (ASB)

ASB is a student led organization that affords students in grades 3-6 the opportunity to learn about and participate in democratic government while promoting the general welfare of the student body and building strong connections between students and their school.

Lynndale’s ASB is advised by sixth grade teacher April Musselman. Officers are chosen in the fall in a full-fledged campaign process. Students declare their candidacy, prepare and deliver campaign speeches to the assembled student body, and advertise their candidacy with posters throughout the school. An election is held, and winners are determined by popular vote. Once the officers are elected, every classroom elects two representatives to attend monthly ASB meetings.

Lynndale’s ASB sponsors and runs a student store. ASB also organizes fun activities such as candy-grams around Valentine’s Day, and monthly “Spirit Days” like Crazy Hat Day and Crazy Hair Day. They have sponsored classroom door decorating contests, served as greeters for Science Day and Young Authors Day, and promoted a number of activities that build school spirit. ASB is a great way for kids to get involved in leadership activities at Lynndale.
